Associate Director of Technology Commercializatio, UNC Office of Commercialization and Economic Development
Kelly Parsons is the associate director of technology commercialization in the UNC Office of Commercialization and Economic Development. She joined the office in 2008. Before that, Kelly worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the UNC-Chapel Hill Cystic Fibrosis/Pulmonary Research and Treatment Center studying the effect of chronic bacterial infection on innate lung immunology.
During that period, she also served as an intern in the technology transfer office and participated in the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School’s Launch the Venture program. Kelly is a member of the Association of University Technology Managers, the Licensing Executives Society and is a registered patent agent. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology, with a minor in chemistry from Virginia Tech University and her PhD in microbiology and immunology from Wake Forest University.
